K 54
DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION K 54 is recommended for easy or medium applications. K54 consists of PTFE sealing ring and rubber NBR O-Ring which is the preloading part. We can use FPM O-Ring against the aggressive media or for high temperatures. O-ring as static sealing part in the area of the groove and at the same time creates contact force due to own compression caused by the assembly and media pressure. There is an additional force in the direction of the cylinder wall. It is caused by the hydraulic pressure through deformation of the O-Ring. This means that with an increasing pressure also increases the sealing force. The advantage of this seal is a very low friction, which is both in static and in dynamic range nearly identical. Very low friction also eliminate the stick-slip movement. Smooth movement is ensured even at the slowest strokes. Other advantages are good run properties even in poorly lubricating media, so it is even permissible short run dry. K 54 enables efficient one-piece piston construction, as the seal can be stretched. Standard sizes correspond to housing dimensions in accordance with ISO 7425 - 1. _x000D_
MEDIA
This seal supplied standardly with NBR O-Rings is suitable for liquids based on mineral oil, water and water-glycol. Short term temperatures are acceptable from -40 °C. Other O-ring materials for temperatures from -60 °C to +200 °C and for hardly flammable liquids on synthetic or ester-based applications are available on request. _x000D_
