Fittings
Fittings
Valves are a key component of modern engineering systems that allow the control and regulation of the flow of liquids and gases in piping systems. They are essential for safe and efficient operation in a wide range of industries.
Materials:
- Metal fittings - Most commonly made of steel, cast iron, brass or bronze
- Plastic fittings - Used in the chemical industry and for less demanding applications
- Ceramic fittings - Highly resistant to abrasion and chemicals
Basic parts of fittings:
- The body: The main structural part that contains the internal flow channels. The body is usually made of durable materials that must withstand the pressure and temperature of the medium.
- Shut-off or control element: A component that directly affects the flow of the medium (e.g. disc, flapper, cone).
- Seal: Provides a leak-proof connection between the various parts of the fitting and prevents leakage of the medium.
- Actuator: Used to operate the valve, it can be manual (lever, steering wheel) or automated (electric, pneumatic or hydraulic actuator).
✅ Typical areas of application: energy industry, chemical industry, water and gas industry
