The stationary (Wayside) lubrication system is located next to the track, the lubricant is fed to an applicator attached to the rail, or to a rail with pre-drilled holes. The system is located at a suitable distance in front of the rail arch

Wayside Railroad (TOR) system - for applying a friction modifier to the top surfaces of the rails
