Zone systems

Characteristics: This is a high-pressure lubrication system working in cycles. The main distribution is supplied by a priming pump. An electromagnetic two-way valve is used to open the path between the main distribution and the lubricated point. The amount of lubricant  that passes through each cycle into the lubricated areas is derived from the number of switches of  the contactless switch installed in the progressive deviders This system is suitable for machines, lines and equipment with a small, medium and higher number of lubricated points - up to several hundred, especially if the lubricated points are arranged in groups relatively far from each other and these groups require different lubrication modes.

Description: The main lubricant distribution consists of one branch into which the lubricant is supplied by the high-pressure pump (a). Individual subcircuits are connected to the main branch via an electromagnetic 2-position, 2-way valve (b). Each sub-circuit includes one or several progressive distributors (c) arranged in two levels, of which one in each sub-circuit is equipped with a non-contact switch. A pneumatic drum pump can preferably be used as a pressure lubricant source. If an electric pump is used, the system must also be equipped with a pressure switch and a relief valve.

Function: According to the needs of individual groups of lubricated points connected to one 2/2-way electromagnetic valve, this valve opens in the respective lubrication intervals, thus connecting the lubricant supply to the respective sub-circuit with the main distribution.
Depending on the type of pump used, the pump is always switched on together with the opening of one of the valves (for electric pumps), if a pneumatic drum pump is used, it can be switched on permanently, so that the main distribution is permanently under pressure and the pump itself is activated when the pressure drops in due to the opening of a 2/2-way valve. The closing of the electromagnetic valve and thus the end of the supply of lubricant to the relevant sub-circuit is derived from the closing of the contactless switch on the progressive distributor. The total dose of lubricant that is delivered to one of the sub-circuits depends on the way the progressive distributors are arranged in it and depends on the unit quantity (the sum of the unit doses of all outlets) of the distributor on which the switch is located, or on an integer multiple of this quantity. Sometimes, especially in the case of long lubrication intervals, the main distribution is equipped with a relief valve, which depressurizes the main distribution to the reservoir in the interim between cycles.

Standard elements for a single-pipe system with electromagnetic valves: a - pumps
  • barrel pneumatic - PowerMaster III, Lubrigun
  • electrical - ZPU 01/02, ZPU 08
b - shut-off valves

c - progressive distributors

Other system components
  • accessories (manometers, relief valve 3/2, pressure switch, air conditioning unit)
  • lubricant distribution (pipes, hoses, fittings, anchoring and assembly material)

Main areas of use: Wherever there is a large number of lubricated places, divided into several groups, with different requirements for the lubrication regime - machines and lines in all industries, even under severe operating conditions.
